Good New For Us | Acts

The challenge in the gospel message is not us convincing God that we are worthy. But instead, the challenge is in God convincing us that we are already loved. Once we understand that, we are called and directed to share that love with others, because God already loves them as well. Daniel Bunn takes Acts 20:17-35 to encourage us to be givers of that love as God has given to us.

What God is up to in the world is good news for us.

Acts 20:32-35 NIV

“Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

What God is up to in the world is good news for us.

Instead, the real challenge is for God to convince us that we are already loved.

What God is up to in the world is good news for us.

God gives.

This is good news for us.
