Sarito Carroll is an author and former member of the Osho Rajneesh movement. Born in 1969, she was brought to India at age nine by her mother, who had become a disciple of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later known as Osho). What was intended as a brief visit turned into a permanent stay when her mother decided to join the ashram. At twelve, Sarito moved to Oregon, becoming one of the first settlers at Rajneeshpuram, a controversial commune built on the Big Muddy Ranch.
She details her journey through the movement, the trauma she endured, and her path to healing. She is the author of In the Shadow of Enlightenment.
