Many Christians have made January 1 about their new goals—their financial goals, their career goals, and their health goals—a practice you’ll never see in the life of Jesus or any of his apostles. While there’s nothing wrong with resolution making, it’s amazing how easily we forget Jesus‘s grand promise, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” It’s days like today which make it very evident whose kingdom we are truly seeking—His or ours.
