In an ideal world our kids would never have to deal with issues like homelessness. But we don't live in an ideal world, and issues like homelessness are real. Too many kids in our world find themselves without a home. Charlotte Cooper, a veteran social worker in Edmunton, Alberta, Canada, has created the Gerry Mouse series. This picture book series addresses the issue of homelessness is a non threatening, respectful way, helping us help our kids develop empathy for those less fortunate than us.
