A Palestinian woman, Leqaa Kordia, was released from immigration detention in Texas after spending a year there. She was accused of overstaying her visa and sending money to family in the Middle East. Kordia, who has lived in New Jersey since 2016, was the last person held after the Trump administrations 2025 crackdown on pro-Palestinian activists. She was released on a $100,000 bond following a hearing where her lawyers highlighted her worsening neurological condition. Kordia plans to continue advocating for those still detained.
