Show Notes
Chatham County deputies are urgently searching for 18-year-old William Bass, who went missing after a mental health crisis escalated into a dangerous situation. Bass, believed to be armed with a shotgun, is considered a threat and is still at large. The incident began on Tuesday near Henrys Ride Road in Pittsboro. Deputies had previously responded to a call at Basss home where he threatened to harm himself and shoot law enforcement. Despite efforts to establish a safe perimeter and communicate with Bass, the situation quickly escalated. Bass fled into the woods, firing a shot before disappearing. Drones have been deployed to locate him, but he remains missing as of Wednesday. Bass is described as six feet tall, 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who sees him should immediately contact authorities and maintain a safe distance.
