1. The Black History Bike Tour is an immersive experience attendees have described as “eye-opening” and “life-changing.” Led by Historian Josette Green, it takes participants to the locations where history began for St. Pete’s African American residents. The history reveals an understanding of the systemic racism in our city today and provides action items for creating positive change going forward. The donation-based public tour is available on limited dates September to April. Learn more about the bike tour.
2.  Hidden, Historic Campbell Park, a walking tour
Hidden, Historic Campbell Park, the culmination of four years of research, unveils the rich history of the first “Negro park” in the city of St. Pete. On an easy half mile walk, Josette shares intriguing, little-known stories of Black history that occurred in this now thriving park. Attendees leave with actionable ideas to advance racial equity. An excellent tour to book for groups. Learn more about the walking tour.
Who Is Josette Green? A resident of Campbell Park, Green is a business and educational professional with 30 years of progressive change management, leadership, strategic planning and problem solving experience.  A change leader specializing in turnarounds and new initiatives. Collaboration, project management, team development and strategic development are specialties.  Extensive experience with the legislative and government process and advocacy on local, state and national levels.  Signature of performance is creativity with out-of-the box thinking coupled with courage and integrity.  A consistent high achiever with proven results.  Says Green: "It's now important to do meaningful work that improves lives and makes a difference in my community and the world.  My work in my own neighborhood which has received multiple awards has now expanded into other neighborhoods. As a local historian I founded the St. Petersburg Black History Tours to educate people on the local Black history and understand the city's current state with systemic racism.  Participants leave with action items to advance racial equity. All of this plus more is adding meaning to my life. From traveling over 75 countries for 45 years, living in three and experiencing the Peace Corps in 2007-08, I am savvy to world cultures and possess the ability and knowledge of cross cultural communication and understanding necessary for today's global community."
