El Premio Nacional de Música, pianista y director Wilfredo Pachy Naranjo y el percusionista José “Chiqui” Pérez Varona, únicos fundadores de la orquesta Original de Manzanillo, que residen en esta urbe, rindieron la última guardia de honor a Luis Enrique “Kiko” Arango Milanés, güirista, y también creador de la emblemática charanga cubana, quien falleció aquí a los 75 años de edad.
