Baguma explains how misuse of antibiotics, self-medication, weak diagnostics, and poor regulation are driving AMR in South Sudan. He outlines this year’s global campaign, emphasising responsible antibiotic use, vaccination, hygiene, and stronger surveillance. Baguma also highlights WHO’s support to the government through training, laboratory strengthening, public awareness, and improving infection-prevention systems across the country.
