Show Notes
We shine a spotlight on mine action as South Sudan joins the world on April 4th in observing International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. Mine action plays a crucial role in enabling peacekeepers to conduct patrols, allowing humanitarian agencies to deliver vital aid, and, most importantly, ensuring that citizens can live without the constant fear of landmines. In conversation with Radio Miraya is Chief of the United Nations Mine Action Service, Zehrudin Sukanovic, and Chairperson of the National Mine Action Authority, Jurkuch Barach.
