Show Notes

Margaret is back from the Lee Valley in County Cork with a timely and practical guide to what needs doing in the garden right now. From potatoes already in the ground to lawns recovering from a mild wet winter, she takes us through the key jobs of what must be done in spring: sowing seeds indoors and out, tackling moss and weeds before they take hold, protecting young plants from what promises to be a bumper slug season, and letting daffodil foliage die back naturally so next year’s bulbs can build their strength. She also makes the case (warmly and convincingly!) for getting children and grandchildren involved in growing their own food. A gentle, encouraging listen for gardeners of any experience, with a timely reminder to get the outdoor jobs done before Holy Week draws us back inside.
