Show Notes

Today’s “Little Big Questions” discussed Denis’ question about why God commanded “thou shalt not kill” in the Old Testament while allowing or causing deaths. Father Darren explained the distinction between God as the Creator and humans as creatures, emphasizing that humans do not have the right to take life but God, as the creator of life, has that right. He used an analogy of a sandcastle to illustrate this point. Father Darren also discussed how God’s plan for humanity was not to experience death, but through human sin, death entered the world. God wants life, joy, and happiness for us, and for us to be in Heaven with him one day. He explained that Jesus’ death and resurrection transformed death into a gateway to eternal life.
