On the Feast of the Annunciation, Mary Stenson reflects on the Legion’s annual consecration to Our Lady before sharing the story of Father Edward Joseph Flanagan, recently announced as Venerable by Pope Leo. Born in Roscommon and ordained in Austria, Father Flanagan went on to found Boys Town in Nebraska — a home and school for homeless and troubled youth built on faith, dignity, and the conviction that there is no such thing as a ‘bad’ boy. Mary also reads St Bernard’s beloved meditation on the Annunciation, a quietly stunning reminder of just how much rested on Our Lady’s fiat.
