Show Notes
President Donald Trump has proposed a 100% tariff on movies produced outside of the United States, claiming that “the movie industry in America is dying a very fast death.”
Trump announced in early May that he authorized the Department of Commerce and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to impose a tariff on all films shown in the U.S. that are produced overseas.
Radio Catskill’s Kimberly Izar spoke to Krissy Smith, owner of The Callicoon Theater, about what the proposed tariffs could mean for small businesses. Note that Smith is a Radio Catskill board member.
