De acuerdo con datos del INEGI, en Tlaxcala existen 518,155 perros con tutor registrados en el Estudio Nacional de Bienestar Autorreportado 2021 (ENBIARE). Sin embargo, se estima que esta cifra sólo representa alrededor del 30% del total de la población canina en el estado.
