Desde el pasado lunes 25 de marzo, un contingente de aproximadamente 1,200 migrantes, provenientes de Tapachula, en la frontera con Guatemala, se embarcó en una travesía denominada "Viacrucis Migrante 2024" con el objetivo de llegar a la frontera con Estados Unidos en busca de mejores oportunidades.
