Defending the Diety of Christ from John 8:31-58 (Olin Giles)
John 8:31-58 focuses on Jesus's claim to be the truth that sets people free, contrasted with the Jews' claims of freedom based on their lineage and religious practices. Jesus argues that true disciples abide in His word and are freed from the slavery of sin, while those who reject Him are enslaved to sin and ultimately to death. The passage culminates in Jesus declaring His eternal existence, stating "Before Abraham was, I AM," further emphasizing His divine nature and authority.
