With 2.3 million Americans in prison, there's no question that we're a carceral state relying on policing to oversee public health and safety. It's been the hard work of nonprofits and philanthropists to fund services to combat this. Still, this week's guest, Alex Duran, tells Xander about how he’s changing the approach of philanthropy to be more inclusive to those directly impacted and why it's essential to the future of ending mass incarceration and underfunded programs.
