Ep 39Angel Reese's Epic 22nd Birthday Bash at the Met Gala
Angel Reese's Epic 22nd Birthday Bash | Met Gala, Basketball, and Beyond! Hey, amazing folks of the internet! Today, we're diving into a birthday celebration unlike any other as we take a peek into Angel Reese's extravagant 22nd birthday festivities. But first, let's reminisce about our own 22nd birthday shenanigans. What did you do to mark the occasion? Share your memories in the comments below! For me, my 22nd birthday was a college affair filled with a heartfelt birthday poster from friends, indulging in cake, and Taylor Swift's catchy "22" song on repeat. But Angel Reese? Well, let's just say her birthday celebrations are on a whole other level! Yesterday, Angel Reese, the basketball sensation, marked her 22nd birthday in style. The day kicked off with the usual parental social media shout-outs before Angel headed to Deerfield, Illinois, for a rigorous basketball practice session with the Chicago Sky. Of course, her teammates made sure to serenade her with a birthday song! But that was just the warm-up. Angel then jetted off to New York City for a "prior engagement." And what was that engagement, you ask? None other than gracing the iconic red carpet at the Met Gala! Dressed in a stunning creation by British designer 16 Arlington and styled by Vogue editor Naomi Elizée, Angel rubbed shoulders with the likes of Cardi B, Erykah Badu, and Coleman Domingo. Now, if you're wondering how a basketball star ends up at the Met Gala, let's just say Angel Reese is not your average 22-year-old. From winning a national championship to securing a Reebok deal with her own signature shoe, Angel has conquered both the basketball court and the world of celebrity. With 26 endorsements, including partnerships with Raising Caines and Mercedes Benz, she's not just a player; she's a savvy businesswoman and a bona fide celebrity. And the best part? Despite the glitz and glamour, Angel's dedication to her craft remains unwavering. After her star-studded night, she flew back to Chicago and hit the court for a preseason game against the New York Liberty. So here's to Angel Reese, the Bayou Barbie, who continues to redefine what it means to be a basketball player in the modern era. Ep 38🚨 Kamilla Cardoso Out 4-6 Weeks! | Chicago Sky's Injury Woes
Here's some unfortunate news to share from the Chicago Sky camp. In a preseason game against Minnesota, rookie Kamilla Cardoso suffered a serious shoulder injury that has sidelined her for a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks. In the game, Kamilla showcased her skills with 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks in just 13 minutes of play before the injury occurred. Adding to the team's woes, rookie Brynna Maxwell is also facing a setback with a knee injury, expected to keep her out for 3-4 weeks. While Brynna's return seems sooner, the uncertainty of injuries always casts a shadow over roster decisions. But wait, there's more! Diamond DeShields and Brianna Turner are also grappling with knee issues, while Isabelle Harrison's status remains questionable. With the season looming just around the corner, the Sky are facing a barrage of injuries that could impact their performance early on. Despite the setbacks, Sky fans remain hopeful for a swift recovery for all players. Ep 31Here's how Kim Mulkey loaded up in the Transfer Portal | LSU's new players
Meet LSU's Newest Wave of Basketball Talent! In the wake of significant changes to their roster, including the departure of Angel Reese to the WNBA Draft and transfers of key players, Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers are gearing up for a fresh start. In this video, we dive into the additions to the team's lineup, including guards and a forward. First up, we spotlight Kailyn Gilbert, a standout player known for her scoring prowess. Despite facing challenges, including a dismissal from Arizona earlier this season, Gilbert's offensive abilities are undeniable, making her a valuable asset for LSU. Joining Gilbert is Mjracle Sheppard, a freshman point guard with a knack for defense. Sheppard's impressive steals and assists stats from her time at Mississippi State hint at her potential to become a defensive force for the Tigers. Rounding out the guard lineup is Shayeann Day-Wilson, whose all-around game brings versatility to LSU's offense. Despite her height, Day-Wilson's ability to create separation and contribute both as a scorer and facilitator makes her an exciting addition to the team. Additionally, LSU welcomes forward Jersey Wolfenbarger, bringing her experience from Arkansas to bolster the team's frontcourt. With the recent addition of incoming freshman Jada Richard, Louisiana's high school player of the year, LSU's roster is shaping up to be pretty good for the upcoming season. Stay tuned for more updates as LSU continues to build its roster, and don't forget to share your thoughts on these new players in the comments below. Ep 24Here's why 18.7 million people watched a women's basketball game - The Caitlin Clark effect
If you build it, they will come. South Carolina vs Iowa Championship game ratings Raven Johnson squared off against Caitlin Clark in a highly anticipated rematch between South Carolina and Iowa, and it did not disappoint. Dawn Staley's South Carolina Gamecocks emerged victorious, capping off an undefeated season in the championship game. But this wasn't just a win for South Carolina—it was a triumph for women's basketball. For the third time in just seven days, women's basketball shattered records, drawing in its largest audience ever. An average of 18.7 million viewers tuned in, peaking at an astonishing 24 million, marking an 89% increase in viewership compared to last year. To put this into perspective, Sunday's game became the most-watched basketball game, regardless of gender, college or pro, since the 2019 men's NCAA championship game between Virginia and Texas Tech. This historic moment also ranks as the second most-watched non-Olympic women's sporting event in American history, only behind the 2015 World Cup final between the US and Japan. Even when compared to the NBA, the last game to reach at least 18 million views was Game 6 of the 2019 Finals. This unprecedented surge in viewership is a testament to the growing popularity and excitement surrounding women's basketball. The narrative surrounding this game, fueled by star players like Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers, has captivated audiences. Rivalries have developed, creating anticipation and leading to record-breaking viewership. As players like Caitlin Clark transition to the WNBA, there's hope for a further resurgence in viewership. With Deloitte predicting that revenue from women's elite sports could surpass $1 billion this year, it's clear that the momentum is building. So, the next time someone doubts the appeal of women's basketball, just show them this video. With 18.7 million viewers tuning in to witness the incredible athleticism and skill on display, it's clear that women's basketball is not only exciting but also gaining the recognition it deserves. #SouthCarolinaGamecocks #NCAAChampions #DawnStaley #BasketballHighlights #WNBADraft #gamerecap Quita Loves Sports is a women's basketball commentary channel primarily focused on women's college basketball commentary and WNBA commentary. Ep 4How "Bench Warmers" Won The Finals, Angel Reese's Reebok Deal + More | Women's Basketball Weekly EP3
Welcome to episode 3 of Women's Basketball Weekly. The WNBA Finals ended on October the 18th in New York with the Aces bringing home the new and improved trophy. And the finals went down to two unlikely players showing up and showing out. The Phoenix Mercury have a new head coach, Nate Tibbetts, he has never coached women before but he does have almost 2 decades of experience in the NBA and the G league. He was an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic, Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers, and six years in the G League with the Tulsa 66ers and Sioux Falls Skyforce. In 2002 The LA Sparks defeated the New York Liberty to win their second title in a row. Amazing, but how did this team get to that point, we’ll it really started in 2000, where the Sparks would go on a 3 year stretch with a record of 81-15. What happens when Angel Reese Shaq, and Allen Iverson walk in a room? A Reebok announcement. This week we are going to talk about the WCBA, the women’s Chinese basketball association, China’s basketball league and the WNBA players who are playing in this league. The WCBA was created in 2002 and is the women’s league for the CBA China’s mens league. Which is similar to the WNBA and the NBA. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Ep 3Chelsea Gray and Kiah Stokes Are Out | Liberty Will Win The Finals
Y’all the finals just got a lot ore interesting. Chelsea Gray and Kiah Stokes are both out with foot injuries so now it looks like this finals is the Liberties to lose. Today at practice both Chelsea and Kiah were rocking boots. They haven’t said exactly what the injuries are but Kiah was on crutches and Chelsea was using a scooter so they both for sure are a no go for game 4 tomorrow and they likely won’t play in game 5. During game 3 Chelsea went down with a non-contact injury and usually when that happens it never really turns out well. I’m not going to speculate on what the injury is but its bad enough that we won’t see Chelsea for the rest of the season. For Kiah it just send like the year round play finally got to her, she seemed fine in game 3 but woke out this morning with pain, its possible that we might see her in a game 5 should we get there but that’s what we know so far.
