Show Notes

(00:00-24:23) – The Fan Midday Show opens on a Tuesday with Jimmy Cook and Will Haskett, starting with a recap of last night’s MLB Home Run Derby. What were the pros, the cons? How can this event be improved? What will it take to get the true sluggers in the event like Shohei Ohtani or any Braves player?

(24:24-45:52) – Jimmy and Will talk about how well the Pacers have been playing in the NBA summer league and discuss if they should start shutting down guys for the rest of the summer. Have we seen enough of Mathurin, Nembhard, Walker and others? What does Benedict Mathurin need to do moving forward to make a real difference on the Pacers for this year and beyond?

(45:53-48:34) - Jimmy and Will close out hour 1 asking why Elly De La Cruz wasn’t invited to the All-Star Game amid his electric season.

(48:36-1:14:40) – Scott Agness of the Fieldhouse Files joins the show to talk about the Pacers summer league performances that he has been watching firsthand in Las Vegas. We have seen plenty of moves from the Blue and Gold this offseason, what more can we expect moving forward? How real are the Pascal Siakam trade rumors? Who are the Pacers willing to give up in a move for a potential All-Star? They then turn their attention to the biggest story in the NBA right now with Damien Lillard.

(1:14:40-1:28:32) – Will and Jimmy talk about the Wimbledon action going on right now and then talk about the nuances of calling tennis, golf and other sports as play-by-play announcers. Jimmy loses a bet and gets scolded for it.

(1:28:33-1:38:45) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Jimmy and Will talking about Jim Irsay’s interview on the Pat McAfee Show yesterday. What does the Richardson/Minshew situation look like going into training camp in a few weeks? How much influence will the owner have on the decision of when to start Richardson?

(1:38:46-2:01:51) – Mike Chappell of CBS4 and FOX59 here in Indianapolis joins the show to talk about Irsay’s comments and then begin a conversation about what we can look for at Grand Park later this month. Is this Anthony Richardson’s job to lose right now? If it is close, who should Steichen choose for week one? Then, the conversation shifts to the rest of the roster- breaking down what to expect from different position groups this training camp. What does the secondary look like, and what will the team scrimmages look like in comparison to the preseason games?

(2:01:52-2:19:27) – Will and Jimmy talk about the latest announcement to the IMS Museum updates and bring in listener input for what you would like to see at the new and improved version of the Museum. Plus, some well-rounded sports talk driven by listener suggestion.

(2:19:28-2:26:16) – We close out today’s show with the JCook Plays of the Day featuring a crazy prop bet for tonight’s MLB All-Star Game!
