Query & Company - Wednesday 9/13 - Will The Colts Give Anthony Richardson Anything to Work With in Week Two? Randy Muller and Stephen Holder Join The Show!

(00:00 - 26:08) - Beautiful day to start off this episode of Query & Company. Jake finally had someone announce that they are "part of the company" at the gym yesterday. NFL teams that are built around one player and the expectations for the Indianapolis Colts moving forward. Aaron Rodgers season ending injury moves the Jets out of championship contention. Their back-up Zack Wilson has some slight Johnny Manziel vibes. Could the Colts be too comfortable letting Richardson get tackled due to his size? The Colts are too easy to defend with their current offensive set-up. Jake's open invitation to a specific listener to talk about whatever topic they want. (26:09 - 39:40) - Caller wants to talk JK Dobbins injury. Jake goes down a list of players who tried to continue after an Achillies injury with various levels of success. The second caller believes that Steichen made the wrong calls at the end of the game. (39:41 - 43:15) - Touch and go segment on another caller's question, do any of the hosts have a shirt in their closet with an inside joke? (43:16 - 1:07:11) - Randy Muller former NFL General Manager, and now a podcast host and columnist with The Athletic joins the program. Jake wants to know Muller's first impression of Anthony Richardson now that week 1 is in the books. Points per game is way down early in the season. Did Muller ever look at any of his teams and think it was a bad roster? Muller sees talent in Richardson, just hasn't found the right skill set to excel in the NFL yet. He believes that a quarterback needs time to develop from the bench before he gets control of an offense, citing Jordan Love who say in Green Bay for roughly 3-4 years behind Aaron Rodgers. (1:07:12 - 1:25:02) - Talk about where you would relocate an NFL team to and what their name would be. If you would rename any of the Indianapolis teams. Are the Colts in a position where they need to start scrambling for a running back. A caller asks if you'd rather overpay for Jonathan Taylor to help Richardon's, or trade him for an elite receiver. Another caller modifies one of the relocation suggestions. (1:25:03 - 1:27:51) - Touch and go with one caller who supports the Sam's NFL relocation team. (1:27:52 - 1:57:00) - Stephen Holder calls in to the show to talk Colts. Jake immediately asks Holder if Shane Steichen will make any changes to the running game to support Richardson. Holder says that until the Colts run game is solved defenses will continue to just play deep and limit Richardson's passing yards. Did the Colts manage to escape week 1 without any major injuries? Bernhard Raimann is growing at a good rate year over year. Holder talks more about the running back situation around the league and who the Colts might be able to target. Where else can Steichen and the Colts improve heading into week 2? Holder believes that dynamic play from skill positions is needed. (1:57:01 - 2:01:53) - Tyrese Haliburton's performance in the FIBA World Championships made him look really good. It was slightly disappointing to see Team USA lose, but it may rejuvenate players in the future according to Jimmy. (2:01:54 - 2:05:26) - JCook's plays of the day. A final caller talks Colts. Some JMV banter between the shows.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Best of Query & Company- Tuesday 9/12/23

Luke Easterling writer for Athlon Sports, joins the show to break down the Indiana College Football world. Notre Dame is showing it’s beginning of the Marcus Freeman era with a smaller opponent in Central Michigan for Saturday. The premier leaders in College Football have a lot of questions to answer and how Georgia is claimed to be the 33rd team of the NFL. Easterling looks at the starting grounds for the Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson and breaks down how the Colts are handling the 21-year-old. CBS4 and Fox 59’s Mike Chappell joins the show to talk the Indianapolis Colts. The guys start off the breakdown of Anthony Richardson’s first game on the gridiron. Chappell is doubtful Colts fans will see more than Jonathan Taylor’s picture on the side of Lucas Oil in 2023. The push for Chris Ballard to make a deal with Jonathan Taylor appears to have little effort behind it. Who should the Colts really be paying of the true difference makers measuring up in the NFL? Lastly what will dishing Gardner Minshew bring in a trade while trying to let Richardson grow.
