Show Notes

Host Cathryn Naiker interviews Alex Wong on his new book Prehistoric, The Audacious and Improbable Origin Story of The Toronto Raptors. They talk about how Alex beautifully illustrates a parallel between the Raptors being new to Canada and yourself being new to Canada. The significance of the Raptor Mascot. It's funny how nostalgia works because everyone has these fond memories of what was otherwise a challenging start to a franchise. Why do we feel that is? Isiah Thomas was our first GM but I don't think the Bad Boy Pistons, era ever crossed over. Who was your favourite role player to watch? Does Alex see the NBA expanding outside of the U.S. again? Perhaps Vancouver or Mexico City? There's been a lot of talk about Toronto not pursuing a WNBA team after the successful pre-season game back in May. Now there are talks of Tanembaun or other people outside of MLSE possibly pursuing it. Do we think it's probable? Why does Alex love the Raptors? Raptors Hottie Highlight of the week goes to Scottie Barnes dancing to the Succession Theme song in San Antonio.
