In the first installment of our in-depth look at Robert "Willy" Pickton, Canada's most prolific serial killer, we delve into the dark and tragic saga of 49 innocent women who met their untimely deaths in the most horrific ways imaginable. These victims, who were pushed to the fringes of society by poverty, addiction, and the necessity of survival sex work, fell prey to a merciless killer who leveraged their societal invisibility and capitalized on the police's glaring indifference and neglect. Part 1 of our two-part series kicks off our deep examination of this horrific case (which sparked the largest serial killer investigation in Canadian history), while simultaneously honoring the memory of the silenced victims. Because the tragedy of these "invisible" women extends beyond their brutal murders, as Robert Pickton further desecrated their remains by feeding them to the pigs on his farm.
