She’s said to appear on empty streets after dark, her face hidden behind a surgical mask and her voice low as she asks one pointed question: “Am I pretty?” If you answer wrong, or even hesitate, the Slit-Mouthed Woman will remove hrt mask to reveal a mouth carved from ear to ear before chasing you down to make sure you match. Some say that in life, she was the unfaithful wife of a samurai who was punished for her betrayal. Others claim she’s the spirit of a woman disfigured and left to rot. But whatever the truth, beneath the legend lies something deeper: a dissection of beauty, shame, and female rage. Because in a world obsessed with perfection, the Slit-Mouthed Woman isn’t just a ghost - she’s a mirror. And what she reflects is far more terrifying than the blade she carries...
