In this lecture, the second in the 2016 Kleinian series, Dr Carveth discusses Klein's "Our Adult World and its Roots in Infancy" (1959). Notable is the fact that in this paper, published the year before Klein died in 1960, there is no mention whatever of the death instinct. Also notable is her constant emphasis upon the important role of the real mother, thus giving the lie to the widespread myth that Klein ignored the real environment and the real mother.
