Promoting readiness for psych health and safety - with Dr Kevin Teoh
In this episode we chat with Dr. Kevin Teoh, Occupational Health Psychologist and the Programme Director of the MSc Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London. Kevin shares a broad range of research findings relating to psychological health and safety, and discusses the approaches he finds most effective in generating trust and collaboration when coming into an organisation as an outsider. He explores the role of job supports in moderating the harmful effects of high job demands, and shares strategies that can be implemented at a team or local level to effect positive change in mental health outcomes. Finally, he describes a research project exploring the mechanisms by which national WHS legislation improves employee mental health.
