George Washington and his forces making a treacherous crossing of the Delaware River on December 25, 1776, from Pennsylvania to New Jersey, surprising the enemy, and marking a shift toward success for the revolutionaries. Mrs. Speed has studied this history for many years, including doing a tour-visit to the site of the crossing.
