Naomi finds herself as a Jew in Moab as a widow whose sons have also died. She is discouraged and embittered. There is a famine in Moab so she returns to Judah with one of her daughters-in-law, Ruth, who clings to her even though Naomi doesn’t want her on the journey to her home. No matter how discouraged you are, someone needs you.
