Show Notes
It’s James and John, not John and James, the sons of Zebedee. Every family, every congregation, every state, and indeed, all human relationships are defined by hierarchy. It’s an inescapable part of life. There are greater and there are lesser. Some serve and others are served. Some rule and others are ruled. Some work and others enjoy leisure. Some are wealthy and some are poor. It is not humanly possible that all people have equality of status, reputation, income, or occupation. While it is possible to treat all people as equals, it is not possible for all people to enjoy equality in every aspect of life. That’s a utopian pipe dream!
