Have some sympathy for the disciples, the women, the crowds, and even the religious and political leaders responsible for abandoning, mocking, condemning, and crucifying Jesus. You have the benefit of the 40,000 view, where he can see from horizon to horizon, from Adam to the new Adam, from Creation to the New Heavens and New Earth. But at the moment, it was hard to make sense of it all, even if you knew the Scriptures as intimately as the disciples did.
