छोटी-छोटी मछलियाँ चारा बनाकर फेंक दीं।
तुम ही खा लेते सुबह को भूख लगती है बहुत,
तुमने बासी रोटियाँ नाहक उठाकर फेंक दीं।
जाने कैसी उँगलियाँ हैं जाने क्या अंदाज़ हैं,
तुमने पत्तों को छुआ था जड़ हिलाकर फेंक दीं।
इस अहाते के अँधेरे में धुआँ-सा भर गया,
तुमने जलती लकड़ियाँ शायद बुझाकर फेंक दीं।
