क्यों दिन भर जंगल छानती,
पहाड़ लाँघती,
देर शाम घर लौटती हो?
माँ कहती है :
जंगल छानती,
पहाड़ लाँघती,
दिन भर भटकती हूँ
सिर्फ़ सूखी लकड़ियों के लिए।
कहीं काट न दूँ कोई ज़िंदा पेड़!
