बर्फ़ बाहर गिर रही है,
यह अलाव भी बुझ चला सा है
एक अधजली लकड़ी से मैं झाड़ता हूँ राख
बुझ रही लकड़ियों को नए क्रम में पुन: चुनता हूँ
फूँक से जगाता हूँ आग सोई हुई
एक धीमा ताप सब पर व्याप जाता है
मीठा और उदास, बर्फ़ बाहर गिर रही होगी।
