Show Notes
Jack Kirby, born Jacob Kurtzberg, was a seminal American comic book artist and writer whose innovative style redefined visual storytelling. Over a career spanning several decades, he co-created legendary characters such as Captain America, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Hulk. His work was instrumental in the success of both Marvel and DC Comics, where he introduced dynamic techniques like "Kirby Krackle" and sprawling cosmic mythologies. Beyond drawing, Kirby was a pioneer in creators' rights, frequently battling for authorship credit and the return of his original artwork. His immense legacy continues to influence the modern Marvel Cinematic Universe and has earned him a place in the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame. Today, he is widely celebrated as "The King" for his foundational contributions to the superhero genre and popular culture.
