Ep 17Drekker Brewing Company - Fargo, ND

E

Cameron & Jonathan share a couple beers with Mark from Drekker Brewing Company in Fargo, ND. Drekker. To drink. Getting together with your friends for a drink. It’s not the actual act of doing it, but rather what happens when you do gather. That’s what Drekker wants is to create that experience as you gather with friends around Drekker beer. And Drekker beer isn’t like normal beer. They want to shock you. They want you to feel something when you drink their beer. And not like the “I’ve had too many beers” kind of feeling. But an emotional, strong, memorable experience. We discuss the movie. We touch on the weirdness of Fargo. We chat about valhalla - the great Viking beer hall in the sky. Ep 16Noble Roots Brewing Company - Green Bay, WI

Cameron & Jonathan share a couple beers with Alex from Noble Roots Brewing Company in Green Bay, WI. Alex gives us a glimpse into this brewing operation that has deep family roots. It all started with a couple family trips to some major European beer countries. Their tastes were opened to so many great new things, they came home and wanted to try making those beers. Alex shares a lesson on what not to do in your mom’s kitchen when homebrewing. But getting kicked out of the kitchen was an opportunity to grow the operation. The dream to open a brewery was one that kept playing over and over in their minds. Ep 15Hillsboro Brewing Company - Hillsboro, WI

E

Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with a whole crew from Hillsboro Brewing Company in Hillsboro, WI.Snapper, Dave, and Kim each share a bit of the story of how this brewery was revitalized to bring back a brewery to this small central Wisconsin town after the original Hillsboro Brewery closed about 70 years ago. They're all very passionate about their community. And if Snapper keeps buying buildings at the rate he has, he'll probably own the whole town soon enough. Dave hands Snapper a compliment saying he can really find a diamond in the rough. His vision sees past what's immediately in front of him. Ep 14Broken Bat Brewing Company - Milwaukee, WI

E

Cameron & Jonathan share some beers with Tim Pauly from Broken Bat Brewing Company in Milwaukee, WI.As you may have guessed, this brewery has a very evident baseball theme - from the beer names to the brewery decor, and even to the beer collaborations with former MLB Player, Tim Dillard. Pauly may even name drop a few players who have stopped in to Broken Bat for a pint or two, a time or two. Some breweries went the heavy metal route or the big beard feel, but there was never any question that baseball was going to be theirs. “In baseball, when a bat breaks, it’s something unexpected. And that’s essentially what our beer is going to be like, what the brewery experience is going to be: something different, unexpected.”-Tim & Dan, Broken Bat FoundersWe noticed one thing they were missing, though, was a 7th Inning Stretch. It’s been proposed!BONUS: Tim boldly predicts Brewers finish the 2021 MLB Season with 89 wins to take the division. Ep 9Working Draft Beer Company - Madison, WI

E

Cameron & Jonathan share a couple beers with Ryan & Clint from Working Draft Beer Company in Madison, WI. Working Draft fully believes craft beer forms community. Before the world was thirsty for camaraderie, beer was often a positive force to gather together. Ryan & Clint are eagerly waiting the day their taproom will be that community gathering space over their beer.Ryan has a background in writing, specifically poetry. There’s a quote that “a poem is never finished, just abandoned.” This is a similar approach they take to brewing. Clint approaches his brewing as the artful application of science. And part of that art is that each beer is a working draft, a process in progress. Ep 4The Lone Girl Brewing Company - Waunakee, WI

E

Cameron & Jonathan have a couple beers with a brewery from Waunakee, Wisconsin - the only Waunakee in the world. At least, that’s what it boasts on the community welcome sign. We’ll take their word for it.Kevin from The Lone Girl Brewing Company gives us a little insider info that playing mixologist with some of their beers can produce a great outcome. Cameron doesn’t always think before asking a question or spewing off a cheeky comment. Luckily in this episode, he realized the origin of the brewery name before making one of those speak-before-you-think remarks about the logo. Kevin tells us the story about the first time he hung out with Lone Girl’s now brewer - then home brewer - and he brought his own beer to a home brew party. He had tried enough bad beer and he wasn’t in the mood for more. As you can probably guess, though, Kevin was pleasantly surprised with that homebrewer so much so he was hired on as Lone Girl’s brewmaster! Ep 3608 Brewing Company - La Crosse, WI

E

Cameron & Jonathan have a couple beers with a brewery near Jonathan's hometown of La Crosse, WI. To keep him out of local trouble, I want to clarify that he makes it very clear he isn't FROM La Crosse, but near it! We do get a geography lesson from Jonathan on what exactly the Driftless Region of Western Wisconsin actually is.Phil from 608 Brewing Company talks about his former home brewing days and the major transition from home brewing to professional brewing. Phil admits he's a man of the people, and doesn't always love the beers he brews, but does it for his drinkers! If people will drink it, he'll put aside his own palate preferences and make the best damn beer possible, no matter what! People like candy sours. Phil thinks candy sours are silly. But he may be on to something when he says they're not too bad if you mix bourbon in there. As an admitted Hop Head, Phil talks about why he really got into home brewing - to make the beers he couldn't actually find locally over a decade ago. He also loves constantly making new beers and getting creative with the ingredients he has in stock. We also learn about his strategy of collaboration beers with bleeding edge breweries in order to, himself, be a bleeding edge brewer. Ep 1Meet Your Hosts

Pour Another Round hosts, Cameron Teske & Jonathan Eckelberg, introduce you to themselves and their love of beer. Cameron lets you in on his fascination with magic (especially when it's performed in a brewery), not-so-humble brags about the book he wrote about beer, and goes on a bit of a rant about "favorite" beers. Jonathan shares how PBR supports his family's unique fast-paced hobby, probably mispronounces a Norwegian word after telling everyone of his Norwegian heritage, and requires a few more beers to sing the Laverne & Shirley Theme Song. They both reflect on their shared passion for story-seeking and traveling. This is what drives their desire to know more about the people and places behind the beers they're drinking. We're very excited to bring you these stories right from the source while sharing a couple beers together. Follow Pour Another Round on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
