On their weekly Penn State football podcast, the host Adam Bittner and Post-Gazette/Daily Collegian Nittany Lions insider Joel Haas look ahead to the Nittany Lions' media day this weekend and ponder expectations for them in 2024. Can they win in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff? Not just earn a berth in the field? Is that a fair expectation with big names including Drew Allar, Nick Singleton, Kaytron Allen, Abdul Carter and Julian Fleming in the lineup? Or is coach James Franklin's team still at too big a talent deficit to teams like Ohio State, Oregon and Georgia to expect to be a serious championship contender? And will it be easier or harder to make the Big Ten championship now that the conference has scrapped its divisional format with the addition of Oregon, USC, UCLA and Washington?

Our duo tackles those questions and also analyzes the decisions to play the White Out game against Washington on Nov. 9 instead of Ohio State the week before.
