Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise explains why he feels the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates can all learn valuable lessons from the Oklahoma City Thunder's run to an NBA championship this season.

For the Steelers, he looks at the Thunder's willingness to deal star Paul George in exchange for current stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and wonders if GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin should be more willing to part with names like T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Cam Heyward in pursuit of draft capital.

On the Penguins front, he feels GM Kyle Dubas could benefit from a willingness to move on from Stanley Cup winners like Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang. And with regard to the Pirates, he sees a need for greater player development than the club has demonstrated under GM Ben Cherington.
