“How many of you have tried to help people that had active addiction and then got really angry with them because they acted like a drug addict? How many of you have been really angry at yourself because you were having trouble maintaining continuous sobriety? I just want to suggest to you, not a condemnation, but you don’t understand alcoholics. Powerless is not a theory. You’re behaving in a way that is directed by a synthetic spirit. And that can be relieved from you but not by you. Does that make sense? So do not get on the condemnation game no matter what because that’s the wrong team.”
