“How many of you, by the time you got through your addiction, couldn’t rely on anything you said? And yet here’s a bunch of alcoholics and a doctor. Imagine—imagine your PO’s, and you can trust anything this man says!”

Wayne explains how the Big Book emphasizes the importance of this trust, noting that the physician who provided the initial letter also offered additional insights in a follow-up statement, showing the collaborative spirit between the medical community and those in recovery.
