When you’re drunk and drinking, and you know you probably oughtn’t to be, and the cat’s sitting with you announces, ‘I’ve got religion,’ the fun meter is going down. This is going to suck with a capital S-U-C-K.” Reflecting on a fellow’s testimony, he shares, “So he says I was a guest. So that was it. Last summer an alcoholic crackpot. Now I suspected a little crack about religion. How many of you had that? Look, I can get past this. A little twitchy. He had that starry-eyed look. Yes, the old boy was on fire all right, but bless his heart, let him rant.”
