“How many of you have gone to make an approach for an amends, and by the time you started talking about it, neither one of you could really remember what you were so doggone mad about? You’ve been talking about one another for so long you can’t remember what originally peaked y’all. So rarely do we fail to make satisfactory progress. Our former enemies sometimes praise what we’re doing and wish us well. Occasionally, they will offer assistance. It should not matter, however, if someone does throw us out of his office—we’ve made our demonstration, done our part. It’s water over the dam.”
Joe emphasizes that whether the outcome is positive or less than ideal, the key is being open, humble, and willing to make things right, regardless of the response.
