Joe explains, “So it’s harder to go to an enemy than to a friend, but we find it much more beneficial to us. It’s for them, it’s for you, it’s for everybody, but the reality is I get the benefit of being an instrument of forgiveness only when I’m issuing forgiveness. You can tell me you forgive me all you want; it ain’t going to change the way I feel for very long. I’ll just set my sights on what I can manipulate out of you after that. But when I go to you and offer forgiveness sincerely from me and offer to make right anything wrong, if you receive it, we’re both changed.”
