“It says practical experience shows that nothing will so much ensure immunity from drinking as intensive work with other alcoholics. It works when other activities fail. How many of you can hear some promise in that? What’s the promise? Anybody hear any brighter promises than that? That’s nonetheless a promise, but they also told us that intensive work with other alcoholics ensures immunity. And then they promised us something else which is something of a warning.”
