Show Notes
Join Joe McDonald as he delves into the essential role of willingness and divine power in Steps 8 and 9 of Alcoholics Anonymous. Joe emphasizes the importance of asking for the power to make amends, even when the task feels overwhelming.
Joe shares, “It was one thing to look at it and tell somebody else. It’s a whole other thing to go out to someone I hate and tell them what I’ve done to them. Try and lay that down, yes? We attempt to sweep away the debris which is accumulated out of our effort to live on self-will and run the show ourselves. If we haven’t the will to do this, we ask until it comes.”
This session highlights the necessity of willingness and the need to rely on a power greater than ourselves to carry out the difficult tasks of making amends.
