Whether we are here for ourselves or to help others, overreacting serves no one. Joe emphasizes the significance of the phrase “Thy will be done” and how, once awakened, we recognize where we need to go—even if it’s somewhere we may not want to. There’s always a message to carry, and through these steps, we learn to accept and follow our spiritual path.
In Alcoholics Anonymous, Step 10 encourages us to continue taking personal inventory and admit our wrongs, while Step 11 helps us strengthen our conscious contact with our Higher Power through prayer and meditation. Joe reminds us that by trusting in spiritual direction, we find purpose in every situation.
