“How many of you did not know that you managing your own life was pure delusion? We teach people. We have them read books. But what they’re talking about is a bigger picture. There are events that are going to happen to you that cannot be planned for. And no matter what your planning is, you’re going to go through them even ill-prepared to do so. So the idea that I can wrest satisfaction and happiness when I’m living out a human experience is pure folly. I’m not going to wrestle it out of the air. I’m going to have to live in it and fan that flame of it within me. I’m going to have to find things that inspire happiness in me that are not of the world, not transitional. Does that make sense?”
