“This is a treasure hunt, not a crap hunt guys. I’m learning the depths that I sunk to so I’ll know the heights I’ve been lifted to. Does that make sense? It’s not for me. It’s for everyone else I can bear witness to for the rest of my life.”
Joe discusses the importance of finding a higher power and understanding that recovery is about discovering power and purpose within oneself. “May you find him now. That’s our well wish. And we’ve got precise instructions. This isn’t about making it up. It’s not about groups of drunks. It’s not about doorknobs, light bulbs, or any other nonsense you’ve ever heard. We’re talking about power and purpose found within. We don’t define it. None of us can fully define or comprehend, but we can experience it, and we can grow in relationship with it and we can become effective witnesses of it and our life gets progressively better if we do. Does that make sense?”
Joe’s discussion offers a message of hope and the possibility of transformation through the 12-step recovery process. This session emphasizes the importance of reaching out for help and the power of the support found within recovery communities.
