Democratic attorneys general from fourteen states, along with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over changes to the national childhood immunization schedule. The suit targets the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, alleging that the moves were illegal, lacked science, and threaten public health. The changes include replacing all members of the CDCs Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and ending universal recommendations for certain vaccines. The lawsuit comes as Oregon experiences a measles outbreak, with at least four cases in unvaccinated people. The American Academy of Pediatrics and other medical groups have also sued to stop the new guidelines.
