The new HBOMax series ‘Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,’ from filmmaker Adam McKay (‘Don’t Look Up,’) follows Dr. Jerry Buss (played by John C. Reilly) as he builds the franchise that would dominate and transform the NBA in the 1980’s. In this episode, Rabbis Knopf and Olitzky discuss the show and reflect on the high moral, spiritual, and physical price of the drive to win, and on the relationship between fact and truth in how we talk about our past.
