Kyrsten Sinema, the first openly bisexual Senator and former radical activist, has become a target of progressives for her independent voting record and her refusal to support a $15 minimum wage. Her former Democratic party has censured her for voting too often with Republicans and now she faces a challenge from Ruben Gallego, a well-funded representative, and a yet-to-be-named Republican challenger in the Arizona Senate race of 2024.
But is Gallego's campaign doomed to be abandoned by the national party?
